Mindfully Mounted & Fit is owned by Tanya H. Bevilacqua, an active rider, trainer and coach for 33 years. She has consistently studied biomechanics, classical dressage, jumping with Kim Walnes and Sally Cousins for the last 7 years and has been coaching and training officially for three years. When a horse related accident in 2010 sent her to physical therapy for recovery, she learned how critical rider fitness is when trying to ride to one’s best ability. When she mounted up the first day back, she realized she was riding better than the day before her accident. Former struggles were non-existent, riding was easier and she realized there truly is something to this exercise thing! Rather, there are effects of poor rider fitness to the rider and to the horse. Then in 2014, she underwent surgery to remove an Acoustic Neuroma which severed her balance nerve on her left side. Thus began more PT and her study of Alexander Technique. She found the Ride Right program designed by Daniel Stewart and has earned Mentor certification in both the Sports Psychology and Rider Fitness portions. Her program emphasizes how both the mind and the body must work well together and gives people ways to incorporate this to everyday life. Each student gets an individual attention to their needs and they will learn the biomechanics of effective riding. She currently competes in Eventing with her mare Honorable Judge at Training level with the goal to move to Preliminary in 2015. In October of 2013, they successfully completed a Classic, Long Format 3 Day Event. She continues to learn from her current instructors on a monthly basis and is continuing her education in other areas of Reiki and animal communication. Being an advocate of education, she has a BSBA in Business Administration and a MBA. She is excited to share her knowledge with riders so that their relationship with their horse can be less frustrating and more fulfilling. Many have found their lives outside the ring change for the better, too. She can be contacted at 717-991-7833 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
